Allegedly, the Mormon denomination has had a history of racism. Sometimes, we wonder why there are some African Americans who join them? Tell us, is it necessary to break barriers where it seems difficult to be broken? If the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints still have the issue of racism in the 21st century, then it reveals it may never cease, just like all over America. Therefore, why be a part of a race who does not want you?
According to Joy105.com, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints prohibited men and boys of African descent from being ordained to the priesthood until 1978. It barred black women from temple rites as well.
In the meantime, we hope and pray that the African Americans who belong to the Mormon faith will seek God's Kingdom and not acceptance by alleged white supremacists.
