The relatives of the late pastor, Chuck Smith allegedly claims that a nurse was negligent in caring for him. Now, we don't know all the facts, but from what we read, his death could have been prevented, if the nurse would have called 911. This is a very sad case.
According to ocregister.com, the suit, filed Friday, says Smith’s illness and resulting death was exacerbated by the negligent care of a nurse, chosen by his son-in-law, Brian Broderson. Broderson is Calvary Chapel’s president, and serves as chairman of its board of directors. Neither he nor other board members named in the suit as respondents could be reached for comment Saturday. The suit says the night Smith died, the in-home nurse refused to call 911 despite the fact that he needed emergency medical attention. The suit also states paramedics told Smith’s family that not calling 911 was a mistake, as it likely would have helped to save his life and prevented his suffering.
In the meantime, we will keep the family of Pastor Chuck Smith in our prayers, including Calvary Chapel.
