The funeral of a gay man in Tampa, Florida was canceled after New Hope Missionary Baptist church discovered he was gay. Julion Evans' husband allegedly says everyone at the church where the he grew up knew about their relationship and it was no secret.
Saints of God, although we do not agree with homosexuality or even gay marriage, we don't think it is right for the pastor of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church to decline the funeral of Evans, respectively. Jesus Christ stood before him after he died and He was the judge of his soul. Of course, at funerals, it's the best time to preach against sin so souls will come to Christ. However, maybe this is why Pastor Jenkins declined the funeral, simply because he not only disagreed with Evans gay marriage, but also, he would have to preach exactly what the Word of God says, which would cause a lot of rage and controversy.
May Julion Evans rest in peace and we are praying for his family.
