Of course, the church board is going to approve Bishop Charles Ellis being on 'Preachers of Detroit'. It seems like Bishop Charles Ellis has built his late father's ministry into a mega one. Furthermore, he comes out of a family of dignitaries within the Apostolic denomination. Do you know what that is within the black church? Power. It's not like his church board is going to say no anything he does, in our opinion.
These days, there are hardly any boundaries when it comes to being holy within most black churches. It's very sad to admit it, but we don't know if there are many clergy members who understands what is right and what is wrong, anymore. There used to be a time when first families of COGIC and in the Apostolic Church would set an example of being holy, but not anymore. These days, you got a lot of first families in the holiness church getting into hip hop gospel, christian rap and now reality TV shows. Most of the time, whatever church members see what they are doing, they follow, regardless of what the Bible says about being holy(I Peter 1:16) and coming out of darkness (Ephesians 5:11, II Cor. 6:14).
We knew after we saw the Bishop and First Lady Karen Clark Sheard on their own reality show with their family, we were going to see other big-shots in the black church, follow. It's so sad, nobody wants to be different, these days.
